THTR 202 - Scenic Design I

Description
Study and practice of design for the stage through controlled use of color, line, mass, space, and light. Techniques of rendering, model making, and presentation as it relates to the design process.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Identify the roles and responsibilities of the scenic designer within the scope of theatrical collaboration.
  2. Apply basic skills, such as the elements of design, and theoretical approaches of design to complete a conceptual scenic design.
  3. Create scenic paperwork including drafting, elevations, models, and flow charts to facilitate designs.
  4. Problem-solve scenic solutions for a variety of situations or locations.
  5. Create storyboards to convey scenic design elements.
