THTR 299 - Theatre Management

Description
Theatre Management will provide students with a general overview of the administrative and management functions of an arts organization. The student will develop an understanding of the structure and business of the performing arts, translating traditional business practices into the language of the arts.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Generate a mission statement from the interpretation of a business entity’s vision and core values.
  2. Illustrate administrative structures and managerial positions of a non-profit arts organization.
  3. Chart how artists, administrators, and board members relate to one another to accomplish various organizational and artistic goals.
  4. Develop organizational plans for a management position within an arts organization.
  5. Define and asses the management decisions necessary for an organization’s ongoing financial and artistic health.
