CONS 299B - Construction Capstone Course Credits: 3 Description This capstone course will assess the student’s comprehension of the Construction Management program to include: construction estimating, law, management materials, plan review, and sustainable construction.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Evaluate a set of construction plans.
- Interpret the Commercial and Residential Building Codes.
- Employ construction terms in the Construction Dictionary.
- Compare the energy efficiency in non-sustainable and sustainable construction materials and methods.
- Recognize components of construction field administration including contract documents, construction schedules, submittals, reports and close-out elements.
- Analyze a disputed construction case study.
- Calculate construction material quantities.
- Estimate the materials and labor total installed cost of a construction project.
- Create a construction contract/agreement, invoice, and material and labor lien releases.
Prerequisite: COM 115 or ENG 102 or Program Director approval Graded: Pass/Fail
