Credits: 3Description Presents an overview of health care delivery system and cardiorespiratory professional structures. Basic CRS care modalities are emphasized in context of clinical practice guidelines, therapist-driven protocols, and critical pathways.
Student Learning Outcomes
Correctly administer/modify oxygen therapy using blood gases/pulse oximetry
Identify situations in which bronchial hygiene techniques are indicated and apply them correctly
Identify situations in which hyperexpansion techniques are indicated and apply them correctly
Identify situations in which humidity or aerosol therapy is indicated and apply them correctly
Identify side effect/complications of delivered therapy and correctly administer corrective actions
Assess outcomes of delivered respiratory therapy introduced in the class and modify as needed
Prerequisite: Admission to Associate of Applied Science Cardiorespiratory Sciences degree program
