Description
This practice-oriented course focuses on further developing, fine-tuning, and diagnosing simultaneous interpretation techniques, strategies and transliteration skills to achieve entry-level employment status. Tasks focus on American Sign Language, English and include discussion and incorporation of other communication modes used by Deaf people.

Student Learning Outcomes

Interpret simultaneously between American Sign Language and English at an intermediate level.
Identify culturally linked information and demonstrate skills in successfully conveying the information into the target language.
Assess language and communication needs and preferences of potential clients of interpreting services.
Interpret source and target material for diagnostic analysis and critique.
