AM 307 - Simultaneous Interpreting Applications Credits: 4 Description This practice-oriented course focuses on further developing, fine-tuning, and diagnosing simultaneous interpretation techniques, strategies and transliteration skills to achieve entry-level employment status. Tasks focus on American Sign Language, English and include discussion and incorporation of other communication modes used by Deaf people.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Interpret simultaneously between American Sign Language and English at an intermediate level.
- Identify culturally linked information and demonstrate skills in successfully conveying the information into the target language.
- Assess language and communication needs and preferences of potential clients of interpreting services.
- Interpret source and target material for diagnostic analysis and critique.
