A beginning course which emphasizes a fine arts and aesthetic approach to the medium. Assignments explore ideas in contemporary art while developing technical and darkroom skills.

Student Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate basic technical skills of photography including camera handling, film processing and printing.
Articulate the use of materials, concepts and principles of photography.
Develop an ability to use photography beyond the obvious while exploring ideas initiated by the students.
