Student Learning Outcomes
- Analyze concepts of dental practice management.
- Formulate career goals to secure practice or other dental hygiene positions and direct personal career development.
- Develop an employment portfolio that includes a well-organized dental hygiene mission statement, resume, and cover letter.
- Demonstrate team learning concepts necessary to function effectively in the dental workplace.
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic dental procedures necessary to function as a knowledgeable dental health team member.
- Analyze the fundamentals of dental third party payment plans and managed care.
- Examine the role of the dental hygienist as a productive member of dental and other health care teams.
- Examine basic computer software and applications in dental hygiene.
- Explain various concepts of ethics and jurisprudence related to private practice situations and marketing.
- Formulate interviewing skills and personal presentation.
- Analyze techniques to increase office production.
