An introductory course in the application and appreciation of the basic principles and elements of design, including form, shape, value, space, color and composition.

Assess a design and it’s adherence to fundamental principles.
Analyze design principles in work usable for portfolios and job applications.
Integrate software in the design process for completion of projects.
Assess historical backgrounds, movements and philosophies as applied to graphic design.
Integrate fundamental principles of design to projects and exercises.
