MT 160B - Industrial Hydraulic Power Credits: 3 Description Components of hydraulic systems and how the components function together, as well as interpretation of hydraulic schematics are covered.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Visually identify and describe the function of each basic component in an industrial hydraulic system. (Using Computer Simulation)
- Use Pascal’s Law. (Using Computer Simulation)
- Interpret hydraulic schematics, and identify schematic symbols.
- Identify and understand transmission of power, flow path and the stages of power transmission through a hydraulic system.
- Identify and describe the functions of hydraulic reservoirs, their components, and common indications of malfunctions.
- Describe safety considerations for working with system hydraulics.
- Identify and describe the functions, operations, characteristics, and possible malfunctions of hydraulic system components, to include pumps, valves, accumulator circuits, etc.
