PHYS 151 - General Physics I

Description
General physics primarily for students in Arts and Science, medicine and agriculture. Includes study of mechanics, sound, and heat. A knowledge of right angle trigonometry is desired.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Demonstrate knowledge of Scientific Methods and the relationship of theory, experiment, data analysis and general knowledge.
  2. Demonstrate the ability to analyze data and perform dimensional and graphical analysis of collected data.
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of basic concepts and laws in areas of mechanics, sound, and heat.
  4. Solve problems in areas of mechanics, sound, and heat using the algebra-based approach.

Prerequisite: C or higher in MATH 127  or MATH 128  or MATH 181
