PSC 100 - Nevada Constitution


Credits: 1-3
Description
This course represents a survey of Nevada politics and its constitution. It explores the structure of state government, the rights and liberties outlined in the state’s constitution, and basic culture and politics. This course satisfies the Nevada Constitution requirement and is designed for out-of-state transfer students that have satisfied the U.S. Constitution requirement but need to fulfill the Nevada Constitution requirement.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Explain the structure of Nevada governmental institutions and why they are so designed.
  2. Examine the scope and limits on the powers of components of Nevada government.
  3. Explain the civil rights and liberties that come with being a Nevada resident.
  4. Analyze the cultural characteristics of the Nevada people.
  5. Analyze the processes and motivations behind various political behaviors (e.g. voting, interest group formation, etc.).
