Description
Patient treatment competencies are discussed and practiced on a simulation machine. Students are introduced to isocenter, depth of treatment, patient localization marks, immobilization devices, patient alignment using lasers.

Student Learning Outcomes

Understand medical terminology language used in the treatment of cancer patients.
Demonstrate the correct ways of constructing immobilization devices for patients.
Assist the instructor in proper set up techniques such as triangulation, depth, SSD, and laser alignments on the patient.
List the sequence of events in setting up the patient for treatment from identification of the patient through the signing of the consent form.
Complete four (4) competencies that will be required for graduation.
