RDTP 230B - Clinical Applications I Credits: 1 Description Patient treatment competencies are discussed and practiced on a simulation machine. Students are introduced to isocenter, depth of treatment, patient localization marks, immobilization devices, patient alignment using lasers.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Understand medical terminology language used in the treatment of cancer patients.
- Demonstrate the correct ways of constructing immobilization devices for patients.
- Assist the instructor in proper set up techniques such as triangulation, depth, SSD, and laser alignments on the patient.
- List the sequence of events in setting up the patient for treatment from identification of the patient through the signing of the consent form.
- Complete four (4) competencies that will be required for graduation.
