SON 160B - Sonographic Scanning Lab I Credits: 2 Description Ultrasound procedures performed in supervised lab on campus.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Practice proper patient history taking skills.
- Apply the principles of body mechanics when moving patients.
- Demonstrate proper techniques for the safety of the patient, personnel, and self.
- Determine the proper sonographic settings and transducer selection for the patient and exam being done.
- Demonstrate proper techniques for operation of ultrasound equipment.
- Evaluate ultrasound images for appropriate anatomy and image quality.
- Identify normal sonographic appearance of anatomy seen on ultrasound exams.
- Complete selected ultrasound competency exams at an introductory level.
