Student Learning Outcomes
- Practice proper patient history taking skills.
- Apply the principles of body mechanics when moving patients.
- Demonstrate proper techniques for the safety of the patient, personnel, and self.
- Determine the proper sonographic settings and transducer selection for the patient and exam being done.
- Demonstrate proper techniques for the operation of ultrasound equipment.
- Evaluate ultrasound images for appropriate anatomy and image quality.
- Recognize pathology on ultrasound images.
- Describe protocol adaptations needed to document pathology.
- Explain differential diagnosis for the pathology demonstrated.
- Complete selected ultrasound competency exams at an introductory level.
