SON 261B - Pediatric Echocardiography I Credits: 3 Description Focuses on fetal, neonatal and pediatric echocardiography including embryology and normal fetal and neonatal cardiac anatomy. Pediatric cardiac pathology, pathophysiology and hemodynamics in various disease processes will be discussed.

- Discuss the embryologic development of the fetal heart.
- Describe the segmental anatomy of the fetal and neonatal heart.
- Describe the various congenital cardiac defects, sonographic appearance, prevalence and prognosis.
- Discuss the clinical presentation of various pediatric cardiac diseases.
- Explain the indications, utility, limitations, and technical procedures for pediatric echocardiography.
- Correlate the duplex and color Doppler findings with the EKG tracings on a pediatric echocardiographic exam.
