SRGT 210B - Clinical Practicum II Credits: 3 Description Student will progress through progressively complex procedures gaining experience and competency in the position of the Surgical Technologist.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Employ plan to ensure assigned preoperative tasks are complete.
- Improve technique for: surgical scrub, gowning/gloving and establishment of the sterile field.
- Create sterile field using proper instruments, supplies and medications/solutions on more complex procedures.
- Predict how to best assist the surgeon on more complex procedures.
- Arrange drapes and dressings for application according to surgical procedure.
- Summarize principles of asepsis and sterile technique during all three phases of surgery.
