Description
Student will progress through progressively complex procedures gaining experience and competency in the position of the Surgical Technologist.

Student Learning Outcomes

Employ plan to ensure assigned preoperative tasks are complete.
Improve technique for: surgical scrub, gowning/gloving and establishment of the sterile field.
Create sterile field using proper instruments, supplies and medications/solutions on more complex procedures.
Predict how to best assist the surgeon on more complex procedures.
Arrange drapes and dressings for application according to surgical procedure.
Summarize principles of asepsis and sterile technique during all three phases of surgery.
