Description
This course will emphasize the skills needed by operators of conventional surface water treatment facilities, including operator’s responsibilities for the administration and management of treatment facilities.

Student Learning Outcomes

Relate the procedures necessary to control iron and maganese in water.
Distinguish the procedures and the techniques for fluoridating, dissolving solvents and softening water.
Explain how to control trihalomethanes.
Determine how to handle and dispose of treatment process waste.
Operate and maintain process facilities and equipment.
Recognize water quality regulations and administrative considerations for supervisors and managers.
