PPF 102B - First Year Plumbers and Pipefitters Apprentice II

1. Know the role of the union, the contractor and the employee in our trade.
2. Complete the OSHA 30 hour class and will be able to recognize hazards in the workplace, know the proper personal protective equipment to use on the job, work safely with electricity, lift and handle safely heavy materials, know the principles of fire safety, use scaffolds and ladders safely.
3. Know and be able to use the proper methods of CPR and first aid.
4. Know the basic principles of rigging, recognize materials and know their proper use, understand and use crane and hoisting signals> form and use knots and hitches in rope.
5. Know the different types of copper pipe and their use, solder and braze copper pipe properly, use gas torches properly and safely .
6. Recognize and know the proper uses of the tools of the trade.
