TMST 265B - Heavy Duty Rigging

Description
In this course, the student will learn heavy rigging fundamentals as well as signal person requirements and qualifications.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Understand risk management and how to make a basic rigging plan in compliance with OSHA 1910.184.
  2. Understand rigging principles and load control.
  3. Identify loads on rigging and the rigging triangle, finding the center of gravity and load weights.
  4. Understand application and inspection of rigging hardware in compliance with AMSE 830.26.
  5. Understand application and inspection of slings in compliance with AMSE 830.9.
  6. Understand the requirements and qualifications of a signal person (OSHA 1926.1419 to 1926.1428).
