TMST 265B - Heavy Duty Rigging Credits: 1 Description In this course, the student will learn heavy rigging fundamentals as well as signal person requirements and qualifications.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Understand risk management and how to make a basic rigging plan in compliance with OSHA 1910.184.
- Understand rigging principles and load control.
- Identify loads on rigging and the rigging triangle, finding the center of gravity and load weights.
- Understand application and inspection of rigging hardware in compliance with AMSE 830.26.
- Understand application and inspection of slings in compliance with AMSE 830.9.
- Understand the requirements and qualifications of a signal person (OSHA 1926.1419 to 1926.1428).
