PHYS 181L - Physics for Scientists and Engineers Lab II Credits: 1 Description Laboratory exercises in electromagnetism. Covers Coulomb’s law, electric and magnetic fields, Gauss’ law, potential, capacitance, current and resistance, electromotive force, inductance, motion of charged particles, introduction to Maxwell’s equations and electromagnetic waves.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate basic experimental skills by setting up and conducting experiments.
- Demonstrate the ability to analyze data and perform dimensional and graphical analysis of collected data.
- Interpret experimental data to examine the physical laws of electricity and magnetism.
Prerequisite: MATH 182 and PHYS 180 and PHYS 180L all with a grade of C or higher Corequisite: None Graded: Letter Grade
