This academic map should be used by CSN students who are completing the Engineering Technology: Utilities - Electrical Power, CA.

 

HOW THIS ACADEMIC MAP IS SET UP

The academic map is set up to show students the ideal path to completing the certificate in two (2) semesters.  Students who cannot take the map’s recommended number of credits each semester will take longer to complete the degree, graduate and transfer.

 

CSN CA ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY: UTILITIES - ELECTRICAL POWER: DESCRIPTION

The Certificate of Achievement in Engineering Technology, Utilities-Electrical Power is an 18-month program that provides students with classroom and laboratory experiences in electricity, mechanical power, pneumatics, hydraulics, and ferrous and non-ferrous material.  This utilities certificate focuses on those skills used in operational settings.  Courses include Industrial Electricity, Mechanical Power Transmission, and Fluid Power.  There are also a number of electives that allow students to focus on electrical maintenance, mechanical maintenance, or plant/facility operation in the power utility industry.
