The Registered nurse provides care using the nursing process; works within the guidelines of the Nevada Nurse Practice Act to give care, support, and education to patients so that they can recover and stay well; works in a variety of health care settings including hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, home health, community agencies, wellness centers, clinics and drug centers; monitors the physical and mental status of patients; gives medication and records the patient reactions, symptoms, and progress; and directs Licensed Practical Nurses and Nursing Assistants. There are extensive job opportunities and potential for advancement for graduates of the degree program.
