DESCRIPTION

The Certificate of Achievement in Advanced Manufacturing is an 18-month program that provides students with classroom and laboratory experiences in electricity, mechanical power, pneumatics, hydraulics.   Ferrous and non-ferrous material properties, programmable logic controllers, and facilities maintenance/manufacturing are offered electives. The certificate focuses on those skills used in advanced manufacturing such as industrial and operations/maintenance settings.

  • Computation: ET 111B, MATH 116, MATH 120, MATH 124, 126, 127 or above.
  • Human Relations: MT 102B.

Student Learning Outcomes


  1. Select, test, set up, and maintain various electromechanical systems and machinery using basic system calculations.
  2. Apply various troubleshooting techniques for the identification and correction of faults in electrical, mechanical, and fluid power systems.
  3. Assemble, operate, and maintain various electrical motor controllers, mechanical power transmission systems, and high pressure fluid power systems.
  4. Prepare technical reports and communicate the results through effective oral communications.

Mathematics (3 Credits)


NOTE: Your first college-level MATH course MUST be completed before reaching 30 total college-level credits.

Recommended: MATH 116.

Communications (3 Credits)


Strongly Recommended: COM 115.

Major Requirements


TOTAL MAJOR REQUIREMENTS CREDITS: 24


Grades of D+, D, and D- in the major requirements (occupational) area in a Certificate of Achievement program will not count toward graduation requirements.

Electives (5-12 Credits)


Choose any combination of the following courses.

Recommended courses: MT110B and MT115B for manufacturing (a.k.a.industrial) or AC103B plus any other course for operations (facilities maintenance).
