RESTRICTED ENTRY PROGRAM
Students MUST be indentured in the Structural Steel Ironworkers Apprenticeship Program before enrolling in classes. Special consideration will be given students who complete the Trade Union Ironworker Apprentice Associate of Applied Science if they are affected by the retroactive six year rule. DESCRIPTION
This program prepares the student for employment as a Structural Steel Ironworker Journeyman with the Ironworkers Union. In addition to special program courses, academic skills emphasizing math, science, and human relations components are stressed to prepare students to meet the challenges common in the work place.

Student Learning Outcomes
- Comprehend and utilize all applicable Structural Steel Ironworker tools.
- Comprehend and utilize all formulas used in the calculations of all phases of Structural Steel Ironworker work.
- Comprehend the ability to troubleshoot and repair any problems that arise in Structural Steel installations.
General Education Requirements (27 Credits)
Mathematics (3 Credits)
NOTE: Your first college-level MATH course MUST be completed before reaching 30 total college-level credits
English Composition (3-5 Credits)
NOTE: Your first college-level ENG course MUST be completed before reaching 30 total college-level credits
Communications (3 Credits)
Human Relations (3 Credits)
Natural Science (8 Credits)
Fine Arts/Humanities/Social Science (3 Credits)
U.S. and Nevada Constitutions (4-6 Credits)
Special Program Requirements (35 Credits)
Any IRW journeyman course offered for credit may be substituted for any of the above IRW apprentice courses. Please contact the program coordinator for more details.
