RESTRICTED ENTRY PROGRAM
Students MUST be indentured in the Operating Engineers Apprenticeship Program before enrolling in classes. Special consideration will be given students who complete the Operating Engineers Associate of Applied Science if they are affected by the retroactive six year rule. DESCRIPTION
This degree prepares students for employment as a Journeyman Operating Engineer with the Operating Engineers Union. Along with special program courses, academic skills emphasizing math, science and human relations are stressed to prepare students to meet the challenges common in the work place.

 

Student Learning Outcomes


  1. Comprehend and utilize all applicable Operating Engineers’ tools.
  2. Comprehend and utilize formulas used in the calculations of all phases of Operating Engineers’ work.
  3. Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and repair any problems that arise in Operating Engineers’ work.

General Education Requirements (25 Credits)


Mathematics (3 Credits)


NOTE: Your first college-level MATH course MUST be completed before reaching 30 total college-level credits.

Special Program Requirements (35 Credits)


NOTE: Any OPE journeyman course offered for credit may be substituted for any of the above OPE apprentice courses. Please contact the program coordinator for more details.
