MTT 111 - Machine Shop Practice II Credits: 2 Description Further develops student’s manual skills by putting into practice the theories and user skills introduced MTT 110. The emphasis will be a more practical, hands-on experience through the use of vertical mill work, layout techniques, vertical and horizontal band saws, measuring instruments and some lathes. Shop safety and cleanup are always stressed.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate accurate and precise use of standard and precision measuring instruments for part inspection.
- Properly and safely set tool and work offsets.
- Set-up operate and program CNC mill using proper G-Code.
- Sharpen or replace various cutting tools and inserted tooling.
- Determine if speeds and, or feeds need to be recalculated or adjusted to obtain optimum tool life and part quality.
Prerequisite: None Corequisite: MTT 110 Graded: Pass/Fail
