WMST 299 - Capstone in Women’s and Gender Studies Credits: 3 Description This course is the capstone course for the Women’s Studies major. Students will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills you have developed in Women’s Studies to some of the major topics being addressed in current academic Women and Gender Studies discourse. Students will select, design, and finalize a capstone project with a focus on gender, sexuality, race, class, and other forms of identity in conjunction with the instructor of the course.
Student Learning Outcomes 1. Identify major arguments and evidence regarding some of the major topics of discourse within the discipline.
2. Synthesize and apply knowledge gained throughout coursework in Women’s Studies.
3. Apply critical thinking and communication skills to a capstone project at the intersections of gender, race, and other forms of identity. Prerequisite: WMST 101 and WMST 113 and one other Women’s Studies program elective; and Instructor or Department approval. Corequisite: None Graded: Letter Grade
