PSY 210 - Introduction to Statistical MethodsSame as: SOC 210 . Credits: 4 Description Study and practice with basic statistical methods especially useful in the presentation and interpretation of psychological, sociological and educational data, including an introduction to common computer based statistical programs.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Define and explain basic terms and concepts used in statistics and measurement.
- Select, compute and interpret common descriptive statistics.
- Select, compute and interpret basic inferential statistics.
- Identify appropriate basic inferential statistics for use with more than two groups, more than one dependent variable, more than one independent variable, and categorical data.
- Interpret basic descriptive and inferential statistics generated by common statistics computer programs.
Prerequisite: MATH 95 with a grade of C or better; and PSY 101 or PSY 101H
