WELD 120 - Introduction to Blacksmithing Credits: 2 Description Covers basic techniques used in smithing including set up and ignition of coal and gas fired forges, base metal preparation, shaping tools and processes for bending and welding. These techniques are used to make tools like chisels, punches, and fire tongs. Students learn about design in ironwork and production techniques used in industry. Emphasis is placed on safety and best practices used in the smithing trades.
