WHO SHOULD USE THIS ACADEMIC MAP

This academic map should be used by CSN students who are completing the Secondary Education, AA at CSN and plan to transfer to UNLV to complete a BSBA Secondary Education- Social Studies Major upon graduating from CSN.

Students should visit the UNLV/CSN Transfer Office for transfer course grade and GPA requirements.

HOW THIS ACADEMIC MAP IS SET UP

The academic map totals a minimum of 60 credits and assumes no transferred coursework. It is set up to show students the ideal path to completing the degree in four (4) semesters. Students who cannot take the map’s recommended number of credits each semester will take longer to complete the degree, graduate and transfer. Mathematics (General Education) - Credits 3-5: Options Include: MATH 120 or MATH 120E or above
English Composition (General Education) - Credits 3-5: Options Include: ENG 100 or ENG 101 or ENG 110 or ENG 113
Fine Arts (General Education) - Credits 3: See a counselor or advisor to choose a course option without prerequisites and is valued at 3 credits.
Core Requirements (Major Requirements) - Credits 3: EDU 202 - Introduction to Secondary Education
Core Requirements (Major Requirements) - Credits 3: EDU 214 - Preparing Teachers to Use Technology

Total Minimum Credits: 16
GEOG 103 and 104 are UNLV Required Courses.
Completion of an ECON course is a UNLV Requirement.
Students MUST MEET with an advisor or counselor BEFORE REGISTERING for their NEXT SEMESTER.

Natural Science with Lab Experience (General Education) - Credits 4: GEOG 103 and GEOG 104

HIST 105 or HIST 106 is a UNLV Requirement.
