WHO SHOULD USE THIS ACADEMIC MAP

This academic map should be used by CSN students who are completing the Psychology, AA at CSN and plan to transfer to NSU or UNLV to complete a BA Psychology upon graduating from CSN. This includes the following NSU and UNLV Psychology Programs:

NSU BA Psychology Major
NSU BA Psychology-Clinical Health Major
NSU BA Psychology-Intergroup Dynamics and Social Equity Major
UNLV BA Psychology Major

Students transferring to NSU should visit the NSU/CSN Transfer Office for transfer course grade and GPA requirements.

Students transferring to UNLV should visit the UNLV/CSN Transfer Office for transfer course grade and GPA requirements.

HOW THIS ACADEMIC MAP IS SET UP

The academic map totals a minimum of 60 credits and assumes no transferred course work. It is set up to show students the ideal path to completing the degree in four (4) semesters. Students who cannot take the map’s recommended number of credits each semester will take longer to complete the degree, graduate and transfer. CSN Semester #1 - Recommended Courses

Mathematics (General Education) - Credits 3-5: Options Include: MATH 120 or MATH 120E
English Composition (General Education) - Credits 3-5: Options Include: ENG 100 or ENG 101 or ENG 110 or ENG 113
Humanities (General Education) - Credits 3: COM 101 - Public Speaking
Natural Science No Lab Experience (General Education) - Credits 3:

Students transferring to NSU and UNLV must complete BIOL 101. This means the student will complete the degree with 61 credits.

Natural Science with Lab Experience (General Education) - Credits 3-4:

Three (3) Credit Option with Lab (No Prerequisites): BIOL 122

PSY 201 is a requirement at both NSU and UNLV. ANTH 101 or SOC 101 are recommended at both NSU and UNLV.

Fine Arts (General Education) - Credits 3: See a counselor or advisor to choose a course option without prerequisites and is valued at 3 credits.
U.S. and Nevada Constitutions (General Education) - Credits 4: Options Include: HIST 100 or PSC 101
Core Requirements (Major Requirements) - Credits 3: PSY 240 - Introduction to Research Methods
Electives (Major Requirements) - Credits 3: PSY 201 - Lifespan Development
Elective (Major Requirements) - Credits 3: Options Include: ANTH 101 or SOC 101

CSN Semester #4 - Recommended Courses

Total Minimum Credits: 15
ANTH 101 or SOC 101 are recommended at both NSU and UNLV. Complete whichever course you did not complete in Semester #3.
