Map for Transfer: CSN AA Psychology to NSU and UNLV BA Psychology


WHO SHOULD USE THIS ACADEMIC MAP
This academic map should be used by CSN students who are completing the Psychology, AA  at CSN and plan to transfer to NSU or UNLV to complete a BA Psychology upon graduating from CSN.  This includes the following NSU and UNLV Psychology Programs:
 
  • NSU BA Psychology Major
  • NSU BA Psychology-Clinical Health Major
  • NSU BA Psychology-Intergroup Dynamics and Social Equity Major
  • UNLV BA Psychology Major
 
Students transferring to NSU should visit the NSU/CSN Transfer Office for transfer course grade and GPA requirements.
Students transferring to UNLV should visit the UNLV/CSN Transfer Office for transfer course grade and GPA requirements.
 
HOW THIS ACADEMIC MAP IS SET UP
The academic map totals a minimum of 60 credits and assumes no transferred course work.  It is set up to show students the ideal path to completing the degree in four (4) semesters. Students who cannot take the map’s recommended number of credits each semester will take longer to complete the degree, graduate and transfer.  Click on a course to see more information about that course including description, prerequisites, and credit value.
 

CSN Semester #1 - Recommended Courses


  • Total Minimum Credits: 15
  • Student MUST MEET with an advisor or counselor BEFORE REGISTERING for their NEXT SEMESTER.

 

CSN Semester #2 - Recommended Courses


  • Total Minimum Credits: 14
  • Student MUST MEET with an advisor or counselor BEFORE REGISTERING for their NEXT SEMESTER.

 

CSN Semester #3 - Recommended Courses


  • Total Minimum Credits: 16
  • PSY 201 is a requirement at both NSU and UNLV.  ANTH 101 or SOC 101 are recommended at both NSU and UNLV.
  • Student MUST MEET with an advisor or counselor BEFORE REGISTERING for their NEXT SEMESTER.

 

CSN Semester #4 - Recommended Courses


  • Total Minimum Credits: 15
  • ANTH 101 or SOC 101 are recommended at both NSU and UNLV.  Complete whichever course you did not complete in Semester #3.
  • APPLY FOR GRADUATION by the deadline. Visit www.csn.edu/graduation for more information on applying for graduation.

 
  • Literature (General Education) - Credits 3: Options Include: ENG 231  or ENG 232  
  • Humanities (General Education) - Credits 3: See a counselor or advisor to choose a course option without prerequisites and is valued at 3 credits.
  • Core Requirements (Major Requirements) - Credits 1:  
  • Elective (Major Requirements) - Credits 3: Options Include: ANTH 101  or SOC 101  
  • Elective (Major Requirements) - Credits 5: See a counselor or advisor to choose PSY course prefix options that total 5 credits.
