ADMITTANCE INFORMATION
Admittance into this Bachelor of Applied Science major requires completion of an associate degree with a 2.0 minimum GPA from a regionally accredited institution as well as completion of GIS 109 (and the digital literacy requirement if the associate’s is completed at CSN), MATH 127, and PHYS 151 or higher or program director approval.
DESCRIPTION
The Land Surveying and Geomatics BAS program prepares students to become professionally licensed land surveyors. Instruction includes the use of field equipment, application of modern software tools to geomatics, management of surveying projects, and analysis of legal concepts related to land use and planning. Hands-on experiences and an internship are core components of this program.

Program Learning Outcomes
- Apply sound measurement methods, mathematics, science, and surveying techniques to collect, analyze, and edit spatial information in professional applications.
- Analyze legal issues related to land surveying projects.
- Apply fundamentals in project management to explain a geomatics project decision-making processes.
- Summarize spatial information in graphical, textual, and verbal presentations as a collaborative team member.
- Prepare to competently take the Fundamentals of Land Surveying examination developed by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) to obtain a license as a Professional Land Surveyor

Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 before admission into the program. Pre-Admission Digital Literacy Requirement (0-3 Credits)
The digital literacy requirment must be satisfied as a prerequisite for GIS 109 (if completed at CSN). Pre-Admission Lower Division Electives (25 Credits)
Complete a minimum of 25 credits of lower-division electives for completion of an associate’s degree prior to admission to this program.
