Map for Transfer: CSN AA Associate of Arts to UNLV BLA Landscape Architecture Major


About this Academic Map
  • This academic map should be used by CSN students who are completing the Associate of Arts, AA  at CSN and plan to transfer to UNLV to complete a BLA Landscape Architecture Major upon graduating from CSN.
  • This 60-credit map, designed for students without transfer credits, represents the optimal pathway to completing this degree.
    • Please note: UNLV requires completion of seven (7) credits of Natural Science, but the minimum needed for GE Natural Science on the CSN AA Associate of Arts is 6 credits.  The additional credit of Natural Science may count toward completion of the Major Requirements Electives area.

CSN First Semester


  • Total Minimum Credits: 15
  • UNLV requires completion of MATH 126 or MATH 126E.

 
  • Mathematics (General Education) - Credits 3-5: Options Include: MATH 126  or MATH 126E 
  • English Composition (General Education) - Credits 3-5: Options Include: ENG 100  or ENG 101  or ENG 110  or ENG 113  
  • Humanities (General Education) - Credits 3:  
  • Social Science Electives (Major Requirements) - Credits 6: Select two courses from the Social Science Electives list on the AA Associate of Arts degree sheet.  One of the selected courses MUST also satisfy CSN’s Values and Diversity requirement.

CSN Second Semester


  • Total Minimum Credits: 16
  • UNLV requires completion of ENV 101.

 
  • English Composition (General Education) - Credits 3: Options Include: ENG 102  or ENG 114  
  • Analytical Reasoning (General Education) - Credits 3: Options Include: PHIL 102  or PHIL 114 
  • Natural Science No Lab Experience (General Education) - Credits 3:  
  • U.S. and Nevada Constitutions (General Education) - Credits 4: Options Include: HIST 100  or PSC 101 
  • Social Science Electives (Major Requirements) - Credits 3: Select a course from the Social Science Elective list on the AA Associate of Arts degree sheet.

CSN Third Semester


  • Total Minimum Credits: 16
  • UNLV requires either GEOL 101; or GEOG 103 and GEOG 104; and either ENG 231 or ENG 232.
  • Completing ENG 231 or ENG 232 also satisfies CSN’s Values and Diversity requirement.

 
  • Literature (General Education) - Credits 3: Options Include: ENG 231  or ENG 232  
  • Natural Science with Lab Experience (General Education) - Credits 4: Options Include: GEOL 101 ; or GEOG 103  and GEOG 104  
  • Electives (Major Requirements) - Credits 9: See your CSN advising unit or the UNLV/CSN Transfer Program to select courses that total nine credits and transfer to this UNLV program.
