About this Academic Map
- This academic map should be used by CSN students who are completing the Associate of Arts, AA at CSN and plan to transfer to UNLV to complete a BS Public Health Major upon graduating from CSN.
- This 60-credit map, designed for students without transfer credits, represents the optimal pathway to completing this degree.
- Please note: UNLV requires completion of seven (7) credits of Natural Science, but the minimum needed for GE Natural Science on the CSN AA Associate of Arts is 6 credits. The additional credit of Natural Science may count toward completion of the Major Requirements Electives area.

CSN First Semester
- Total Minimum Credits: 15
- Mathematics (General Education) - Credits 3-5: Options Include: MATH 120 or MATH 120E
- English Composition (General Education) - Credits 3-5: Options Include: ENG 100 or ENG 101 or ENG 110 or ENG 113
- Humanities (General Education) - Credits 3: COM 101 - Public Speaking
- Social Science Electives (Major Requirements) - Credits 6: Select a course from the Social Science Electives list on the AA Associate of Arts degree sheet.
CSN Third Semester
- Total Minimum Credits: 14
- UNLV requires completion of a World Languages 111 or above course and either ENG 231 or ENG 232.
- Completing ENG 231 or ENG 232 also satisfies CSN’s Values and Diversity requirement.
- Literature (General Education) - Credits 3: Options Include: ENG 231 or ENG 232
- Natural Science with Lab Experience (General Education) - Credits 4:
Four (4) Credit Options with Lab (No Prerequisites) include: ANTH 102 and ANTH 110L ; or AST 103 and AST 105 ; or AST 104 and AST 105 ; or BIOL 101 ; or CHEM 105 and CHEM 106 ; or CHEM 107 ; or GEOG 103 and GEOG 104 ; or GEOL 101 ; or PHYS 110 - Electives (Major Requirements) - Credits 4: See your CSN advising unit or the UNLV/CSN Transfer Program to choose a World Languages 111 or above course.
- Electives (Major Requirements) - Credits 3: See your CSN advising unit or the UNLV/CSN Transfer Program to choose a course that transfers to this UNLV program.
CSN Fourth Semester
- Total Minimum Credits: 15
- UNLV requires completion of a World Languages 112 or above course.
